Valle Gran Rey Christmas programme 2019

Above the programme for the Christmas season in Valle Gran Rey. First there's the annual 'Noche en Blanco' with live music and late shopping in Vueltas this Saturday. A similar event takes place a week later in La Playa. The New Year's Eve fiesta happens in La Playa this year and then we'll have the main Los Reyes Christmas fiesta from the 5th to the 7th of January 2020 in El Guro.

Harbour village 'Noche en Blanco' 2018

Above the programme for the 2018 Noche en Blanco (night in white) Christmas  promotion in the harbour area of Valle Gran Rey which offers entertainment for young and old, live music in the streets and special offers in the shops - all happening in several spots around the area this Friday Dec. 21st 2018 from 5pm. Don't miss Fran Baraja and band, who drew a large crowd last year with their lively set. They'll be playing twice on the corner where the 'Bistro' cafe is in the harbour village of Vueltas. 

Art exhibition with live music

Due to the huge success last week artist Pero is repeating his art exhibition with live music in Tanya's shop in La Playa, Valle Gran Rey this Saturday from 6pm as part of the Noche en Blanco (see previous post).

'White night' 2018 in La Playa

Above the programme for the 2018 Noche en Blanco (night in white) Christmas  promotion in the La Playa area of Valle Gran Rey which offers entertainment for young and old, live music in the streets and special offers in the shops - all this Saturday Dec. 15th 2018 from 5pm.  Another, larger Noche en Blanco will take place on Friday 21st of Dec. in the area near the harbour of Valle Gran Rey.

It's 'white night' time again

The annual 'White Night' Christmas shopping promotion takes place in the harbour village of Vueltas and neighbouring El Llano area in Valle Gran Rey from 5 pm until 11:30pm tonight. Friday Dec. 15th 2017, with lots of activities and entertainment for young and old, various live music acts, and the local award-winning samba drummers marching through the streets. Many shops will stay open late with special offers and promotions (see above programme).

A similar so-called 'Noche en Blanco' (night in white) will take place Friday, Dec. 22nd 2017, in the La Playa area of Valle Gran Rey.

...and, 'noche en blanco' does not mean it's a fancy dress event where white is worn, and don't expect any snow.

Two bands for beach party

Tonight the 'noche en blanco' promotion is taking place in the La Playa area of Valle Gran Rey and a short walk further out at the uninhabited western end of the valley at the Playa del Ingles beach just beyond the sports grounds two bands will be performing after sunset - see flyer above. This gig is the rocking alternative to the X-mas shopping promotion in La Playa and not part of the official programme below:

Great fun with Barraquito Brothers

 Last night's 'Noche en Blanco' held a special musical treat on a street corner opposite the 'Bistro' in the Vueltas area of Valle Gran Rey which drew a large crowd. The 'Barraquito Brothers' from La Laguna in Tenerife played a very diverse set which ranged from jazz to pop to folk and much more, all delivered in a humorous and very entertaining way. At one stage they had the whole street street singing along. The above video doesn't do them any justice at all, but it gives a short impression of their talent.

Many shops will stay open late. 
A similar so-called 'Noche en Blanco' (night in white) will take place Saturday, Dec. 17th 2016 in the La Playa area.
