Note: High speed car ferry operated by Naviera Armas which connected Valle Gran Rey (La Gomera) directly with Los Cristianos (Tenerife) in about 90 minutes is not running anymore and sadly there are currently no indications that it will operate this winter season. Read more...

TRANSFER:

This company will pick you up at the airport and bring to your accommodation on La Gomera. For example a return trip from Tenerife South airport to Valle Gran Rey will cost 90 Euros and includes your ferry tickets. This reliable service can be booked online (click MESA link above).

Note: A bus is called  'GUAGUA' (pronounced 'gwa-gwa') in the Canary Islands and not 'autobus' as in Spain.

Accommodation:
There is a huge selection of self-catering apartments of all categories from very basic and cheap to more upmarket very nice and artistically done. A lot of apartments are let through agencies, but a good few can only be booked directly.
Most hotels, apartments and holiday homes, can be booked through the usual booking sites on the web, and Airbnb also shows a good selection of accommodation here.

La Gomera's small airport (GMZ) offers regular flights to Tenerife north airport (TFN).

Taxis will also taylor individual tours of the island to suit your needs at special rates. Larger taxis for up to 8 passengers and for transporting bikes, bulky luggagge, etc. also available.
Note: It is almost impossible to get a taxi after 10:30pm on La Gomera. However, taxis are always awaiting ferries on pier, even if delayed. For early morning departures taxis should be pre-booked.

Whale watching and boat excursions:

A number of operators offer boat trips, most from Valle Gran Rey and some with pick-ups in Playa de Santiago. Information boards and ticket offices are located in the inner harbour in Vueltas, V.G.R.

Fishing trips: 

These are available in the marina of San Sebastian de La Gomera and can also be arranged in the ports of Playa de Santiago and Vueltas (Valle Gran Rey).
