Hello Halo

Hello there, just to let you know that I'm still on the ball, BUT I'm having minor 'accidental' health issues and major issues with my internet connection - hence the absence of more regular posts.
FERRIES: The connection to V.GR. is suspended temporarily due to a 'technical revision' of the vessel serving the connection. It is expected to be back in service with a new timetable very soon. Keep the fingers crossed !
WEATHER: We've had around 20mm of rain today in V.GR.. A good bit, yes, but only temporarily relieving the drought. Hurray anyway, and I've shared a few beers with local farmers who were grinning like children at Christmas.
***Much more happened lately, but my window of web space is narrowing, i.e. my neighbour wants me to talk to him rather than me talking to you via his connection...
More and more details  soon, hopefully.
By the way, above image of a halo around the moon was taken about 40 minutes ago. Good night.

THE vessel? There are 2 vessels of 2 companies servicing Vueltas/VGR. Both are out of service, NA is out of service until 27/2/19, FO is out of service until 22/2/19.

Almost a year ago work was started on the seafront at Santiago. When we left the island last March it looked like a building site. It still resembles this. and today was the date it was meant to be complete.Several halfhearted attempts have been made but not finished. Santiago is a Southern jewel on La Gomera, the best weather on the island, good restaurants and good transport links. Unfortunately we now see people arriving, taking one look and turning away.I feel very sad this is happening to such a beautiful place.
Please can the officials responsible for this work act now.

5 of us were waiting at the bus station at San Sebastien for the 3 30 Valley Gran rey, Line one, and it didnt show.
Turned out the bus had gone to meet the ferry, and was full. Didnt bother to come to the main bus station. Reason it was full was due to the Fred Olsen connecting service to Santiago, Valle gran Rey being off for routine service. Anxious time waiting for 6 30 pm as bus was only way back to our apartment V G R.Do we wait at bus station for repeat of full bus, or pick bus up at ferry terminal, where the Line1 time said rather confusingly 7 45 to 8 30 pm. Nobody could tell us what this meant.
Happy ending when bus arrived Bus Station at 6 30 with plenty of room.
You would think the bus company would have put on an extra bus knowing the link ferry was being serviced.

Do you know when it's possible to buy tickets with Naviera Armas Valle Gran Rey - los Cristianos online?

La Gomera said...

Very soon...

Does the ferry from VGR to los Cristianos go directly to los Cristianos or does it stop in San Sebastian ?

It depends on the day of the sailing. Check the Armas website. See my Travel, Transport,... page which has a link to that.

most recent news from Naviera Armas dating from 2 March 2019 at https://www.gomeratoday.com/tag/naviera-armas/

"Por razones operativas, Naviera Armas se ve obligada a aplazar la reincorporación del catamarán “Champion Jet 1” a la línea Valle Gran Rey-San Sebastián-Los Cristianos, que estaba prevista para hoy. El citado buque, fletado a la compañía griega Seajets, se encuentra atracado en el puerto de Santa Cruz de Tenerife, donde ha pasado inspecciones técnicas y renovación de certificados.
